Updated Interactive Features on our Website

Did you know that by logging in to "My Records" you can do the following things?

Request an appointment time, with a reply sent by email or text (if we have your email and cellphone number recorded).
Find out when your pet’s vaccination and other reminders are due.
Update your personal information or address.
Notify us if your pet has changed owners or passed away.
Look at your billing history and search by product to see when you last purchased an item (for example flea control).
Track your pet's weight using data recorded at previous visits.

To be able to do this you need to have a password (the initial default is your client number - which can be found on any of our invoices you may have), and a username (this is your email address).   Please email us a request for your client number at petmd@bbvet.co.nz if you do not know it (or if you are not sure we have your current email address).  Note that it takes 2-3days after registering for your login to be activated.

Welcome to our website

At the Bucklands Beach Veterinary Hospital we are committed to providing high quality veterinary care for your pets. We strive for excellence in service and communication.  We hope that you will use our website not only as a source of information about our Veterinary Hospital but as your first choice when looking for any pet care information you need.

This month is Pet Diabetes Month.

As part of the campaign we will be providing free urine test strips for you to check your dog or cat at home for glucose in the urine. You will simply need to dip the test strip in your pet`s urine to indicate a positive or negative test..
As with so many diseases early diagnosis is important. Signs that your pet may be at risk of diabetes include urinating too much, often accidents inside, drinking too much water, weight loss, lethargy and a thinning dry and dull coat.

Clinic and Staff News
Our Summer Newsletter is now available for download by clicking on this link Newsletter 35.

Around Christmas time our faithful compressed air dental unit broke down.  It took some time to return from the repair company as the staff member with the know-how was on holiday.  Unfortunately the fix was not successful and it was not able to be revived.  So we have now purchased a new state-of-the art IM3 dental unit.  We apologise to clients who have had to wait for recommended dental work to be carried out but we will be clearing the backlog as quickly as possible... in fact our vets will likely be queuing up to use this flash machine.

Iain Malcolm is soon to head off to the World Veterinary Conference in... wait for it..... Las Vegas!  The flights and accommodation are sponsored by Hills Pet Food (we entered a draw for one of 4 such trips and were lucky enough to win).  The educational program is just amazing with multiple topic streams running simultaneously.  so it is a great opportunity to absorb and bring back the most up-to-date veterinary information.   A tough task but someone had to do it!  Yeah Right!!
